GOALS
AND DREAMS by Tracey Jones, Age 16
Dreams
satisfy for an instant; plans for a day; accomplishments
for eternity.
Dreams
are the essence of life -- man's goals and desires.
These visions are stored in the mind, enabling
man to seek out the answers to his questions.
A
soul. willing to be patient, a mind ready to
be worked, and a spirit striving to be successful
are needed to unlock those secrets. Happy are
those who pay the price to make dreams come
true. Inspired by God, these mysterious jewels
can extend to distant horizons and beyond to
the cosmos. New frontiers must be conquered
and it is the human nature to seek out and overcome
these conquests.
The
fine line between these commitments and becoming
hopelessly obsessed with them is in getting
things into perspective. However much achieving
the goal means, one must constantly look at
things as a whole by keeping in touch with reality.
This is perhaps the hardest part, for many men
have faltered here. Do not be the man who is
all composed of ideas and does not have the
will to make them materialize.
Dreams
motivate the self, while achievements motivate
the world. Remember that plans and material
action are as important as the idea itself.
For what good doeth a man with airy hopes only,
never stooping to bring his head out of the
clouds.
Dreams
can reach ultimate heights, but be wary of the
man who becomes lazy and unrealistic, for there
is a man who will fade in the shadows. When
he becomes aged, he will gaze over his life.
If he has left his dreams unfulfilled by not
planning and activating himself, he will sink
into a sea of depression. The thing that matters
is that feeling of accomplishment and realizing
that you have gotten what you have sought.
If
a man succeeds in accomplishing his goals, he
must not look back at the world to boast, for
they will see what he has and seek it by craving
some of his glory.
Beware,
also, of being self-centered, for through stepping
on others, a man will fall and be cursed for
it.
Take
time to plan things out in a workable pattern.
Keep that dream within your mind's grasp so
as not to become disappointed or discouraged.
Dreams
may liberate the mind, and plans the body; but
accomplishments will liberate the soul to move
freely on to bigger and brighter things.
